Worst college to join for nursing. They seem more money oriented than teaching students, failing students instead of helping them, wasting a whole year of students for silly mistakes and just one point even if you get more than 50 overall and still failing. This uni is very easy to join but you will get stuck here for a long time in nursing.

My house was robbed and my wallet and family car had been stolen. I asked for a 1 day extension for an assessment since I need to reissue ID's (my mother and mine), bank cards, get insurance claims, and get house locks switched. He set a deadline where I have to get written evidence within 1 business day otherwise nothing will be done. Police only gave me a number for insurance and insurance company was taking a very long time. I asked Rui again what I would be able to do if I dont get the email within that timeframe. He said nothing could be done and i would need to go in person to get a physical document. I dropped the unit, there is already so many things that need to be done after your house gets robbed, i do not have time to skip class to get a physical document, fall behind then catch up on class, then finish assignment while having to sort out issues for the robbery. Incredibly dense and insensitive

An excellent educational institute covering an extended area. The buildings are beautiful with a mix of modern and traditional architecture; particularly, the Great Hall is very beautiful.

I had an interesting time at UOW. Although my time on campus was heavily affected by the pandemic, I nonetheless had a memorable time here that I'll remember for years. I'll be forever grateful that I was given the opportunity to attend the university and it's definitely a place that I would highly recommend to others. A great university with excellent resources and a friendly environment.

This seems more like a party university. Of course, if you study well, you can get a qualification. But unlike ANU, you won't be very well supported and won't really gain in-depth knowledge in the field. And you won't be surrounded by bright and enthusiastic students who push you to do your best.Reply to owner:Thank-you for your response. First, I must clarify: my reason for posting this review was to inform prospective students of what to expect of UC. I had only very brief experience with UC in the software engineering program but quickly found out that teachers, despite enthusiasm, were simply not ready to deliver the high-quality of teaching I expected based on the UC website. This was confirmed when I transferred to ANU and quickly realised how much I had been missing.Furthermore, I am very concerned about the quality of teaching in the Nursing degree program; while graduates might rank the quality of teaching highly, I have been a registered nurse with Canberra Hospital for the past 10 years and have mentored at least 20 students from UC and ACU at varying points in their course. There is a very noticeable difference in the competence of the students, ACU being the clear winner on every occasion. I'm sad to see this because the students themselves are very eager but I think they are hamstrung by the lack of clear direction in their training at UC, specifically, they aren't being taught how to *think* critically, in the context of being a nurse. Despite voicing my concerns to their CLNs over the past years, I have yet to see any improvement.Regarding the statistics:UC does not crack the top 20 Universities in Australia. And it isn't in the top 500 in the world.Regarding employability, Canberra is a small city with only 2 universities based solely in Canberra. Given that most of your graduates are in healthcare, the highest employer in Canberra, it's no wonder most of your graduates get jobs.Compared to ANU which has courses ranging from theoretical physics to Chinese studies, fields that don't employ many people. It's good that students can have fun; my point, again, is that prospective students should not expect serious, high-quality education from UC. Instead expect a party" university. I'm not saying this is a bad thing necessarily
