Pod Inn
I was only for one night in Launceston. The pod inn was the cheapest option, compared to a hotel and didn’t want to go a hostel. Because I am not the best sleeper. That’s why I thought this would be a good idea.I didn’t expect it to be very high end, but as a pod I did expected it would be sound proof! Which is totally not.I am laying above someone who’s cutting the forest. Yes I have earplugs but this is not enough. Just so annoyed about this…The pod itself looks good. Self check in was really easy.Toilets and showers are not the cleanest and there’s a weird smell overal. In my eyes the place is also not the cleanest.Even if i would be still backpacking, it would be check in and the next day check out.

There's a lot of enthusiasm in the reviews for the concept but here's the reality.1. The FIRST thing they should do when designing these places is make sure they are properly soundproof. They are not. Not even slightly. You will hear traffic, doors closing, people climbing into pods, people talking and people snoring. Expect a bad night's sleep. I had ear plugs under noise cancelling headphones and it was not enough.2. The mattress is very thin. Sleeping on my side was extremely uncomfortable and on my back not much better. The pillow is also thin.3. There is no power socket and only the old style of USB. It's true you can change the colour of the lights but that gets pretty old very quickly. The pods are clean and white and bright but the building is not so space age. It's fairly well run with good check in/out processes.Don't think you're going to some futuristic hotel though. This is a really a hostel with added privacy.

The cleanest, quietest, most accommodating pod hotel I've ever stayed in! Absolutely spotless rooms and bathrooms, with a generous kitchen for food storage and complimentary tea and coffee. Even has a coin operated laundry if you need a wash.Would recommend to anyone coming to Launceston!

For the price I can’t fault the accomodation, it was clean and well run. However the disappointment would definitely be the other guests staying, there are clear rules about being quite in the pod area which were not adhered to. People were taking phone calls and talking loudly at 11:30pm when there is a communal room for that. Take your own earplugs as the provided ones aren’t very good. The double pods are spacious and comfortable however the fans don’t seem to work in them but it was not uncomfortable. There are USB charging points within the pod which were perfect for charging devices. For only $70, I would stay again.

I really wanted to like this place. I have stayed here several times in the past and loved it. However, this stay was extremely disappointing the cleanliness of the place seems to have gone significantly downhill. The EXTENSIVE mould in the bathrooms was disgusting and absolutely unacceptable. The kitchen was dirty and smelt like off/rotten food- some of the food had been there for months judging by check out date labels.

Pod Inn
Clean, easy. One small cupboard to store your bags etc and no where to store bigger items. No free parking close. Sound proofing isn't the best in the pods but people seem to understand and keep mostly quiet. Very small amount of fridge space shared for hostel

Can only repeat what a few others before me already said. The capsule itself is clean and great for privacy but yes not sound proof at all since its only plastic, but what can you expect for that price. The bathrooms are not clean at all and did not get cleaned at all during our 2 nights stay, which is very unhygienic! There is a lot of people coming and going so they should get cleaned even more than once during the day. There was no toilet paper for a whole afternoon and evening.I honestly don't know why the reviews are that good, probably it also depends on the people staying..

Clean and quiet, I am an older male and found it quite comfortable and easy to sleep. The staff was helpful. Great central location and adjoining Japanese cafe was good too.

My partner and I stayed one night here in seperate pods. I found the pod overall comfortable and very roomy. My partner on the otherhand found his to be very warm and didn't cool down. The bathrooms were a little dirty but okay. Great for a single night stay, wouldn't recommend staying long-term.
